They’re not a soulless company–they’re gamers, writers, and visionaries, and they make it obvious in each journey and character that they develop.

Gedonia 2 entered early access in 2024, and I spent launch day investment to see what all the fuss was about.
Now it’s out on PC, and I’ve been playing it through Steam. There have been some rumors circulating through the forums of console releases in the future, but currently, PC is where the magic happens. Gedonia 2 is a rich story tapestry with all threads of story lying in wait for you to pull out.
You are nothing at the beginning, but what you choose to do makes you who and what you are. I’ve been pulled into political machinations, ancient secrets, and the mundane lives of the people I encounter. The world is rich and diverse—vibrant forests, thriving villages, and buried ruins to discover. There’s history to it, and every location has something to say. Even after dozens of hours, I still find new locations and secrets. The lore is deep, but never overwhelming, and the mood pulls you in from the initial quest.
Gameplay Mechanics
Gedonia 2 is all about arming you to play it your way.
The combat is good, whether you’re casting, brawling, or killing enemies with ranged combat. There’s crafting, too—I’ve spent hours crafting materials and fine-tuning gear. The skill system is very flexible too, and rechurn and recombine to your play style of choice. Exploration is a pleasure with secrets hidden at every turn and all the reasons in heaven to take the road less traveled. It’s not hyper-realism—about making it a world you can lose yourself in. The graphic style is colorful, just a hint of detail to impart the definition which divides each location. Performance has been superb on my test system, with silky-smooth frame rates and speedy loads. The audio is a big plus point—bigger-than-life tunes when exploring, pounding beats in combat, and soothing melodies in the villages. Sound effects are clear and precise, and voice acting (when used) adds a lot of personality. It’s the sort of game you’ll find yourself playing through headphones, just to get fully immersed.
